On July 26, 2014, Governor Chris Christie appointed Chris Rodriguez to lead the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP). Director Rodriguez serves in the Governor’s Cabinet. Prior to his appointment, Director Rodriguez served for more than a decade in the US Intelligence Community, where he held a variety of analytic and management positions. During his time at Central Intelligence Agency, Dr. Rodriguez also oversaw an analytic unit that handled global economic and energy security, as well as related counterintelligence and cyber threats. Dr. Rodriguez has been recognized with several awards from CIA and the Director of National Intelligence for his leadership and professional achievements, both in the U.S. and abroad. Born and raised in Morris County, Director Rodriguez holds a Bachelor’s degree from Williams College and a Master’s degree and PhD from the University of Notre Dame.
